Calvin 2006-2011
I received very sad news today.
On November 20th, Calvin got away from the dogsitter, and has been missing. Today they found his body. Based on prior sightings, he was on his way home, and was almost there, when he was apparently struck by a vehicle.
I am so pleased that I got a chance to meet this wonderful dog, and see him in action with his sheep. While he will be missed by many, especially his owner, Margaret Lass-Gardiner, and his family, I am glad that Xen is allowing him to live on, in the seven happy, healthy pups he sired with her.
Rest in Peace, Calvin!

I am so sorry. Truly only the good die young.
Oh NO! That’s terrible! I’m so sorry. How very fortunate Xennie was able to have a litter with him. What a horrible thing to happen; my heart breaks for his poor owner.
I’m so very, VERY sorry for this loss – please extend my sympathies to Calvin’s person. Wow, having flashbacks to losing my childhood dog that way – it’s rough. Shocks like that are a whole different type of grieving. ((Virtual hugs)) to everyone who loved him.
I am so very sorry to hear about Calvin. As all of us who know and love Ana can attest, she was mighty particular about who would be best for Xennie. When she ‘met’ Calvin, she knew that he was perfect — smart, accomplished, high drive, and most handsome. Ana sent around pictures, bragged about what the puppies would be like… Even though I never met Calvin, he felt like part of the extended family — he is missed.
