Four-Week Puppypalooza!

They’re enjoying real food (soaked puppy kibbles with ground chuck) and Xen’s beginning to look annoyed with them. I miss you, Xennie!

Here are pictures of the pups today at 2 wks. They are starting to walk around and are barking and growling some. There eyes are just starting to have slits in them should be open in the next few days. They are starting to give puppy kisses now also. Seems like their ears are opening up also.
Xen is being a great mother and keeping the pups happy and clean.

A beautiful photo collection of the handsome Calvina–a magnificent dog whose life was cut tragically short…

The Pups are One Week Old

Per Xen’s breeder, who has Xen for her maternity leave:

“Here are the 1 wk pictures of the puppies. They have really grown. All are over a pound.  They are still very quiet and content. Xen is a great mother and keeps them happy and clean. Can’t ask for anything more.  My friend Vicky came  to see them today and helped me take these pictures.  hopefully holding them this way you will be able to see the markings on their legs and under sides.   I have one female still needing a good performance home.  Pass the word.”

Calvin 2006-2011

I received very sad news today.

On November 20th, Calvin got away from the dogsitter, and has been missing. Today they found his body. Based on prior sightings, he was on his way home, and was almost there, when he was apparently struck by a vehicle.

I am so pleased that I got a chance to meet this wonderful dog, and see him in action with his sheep. While he will be missed by many, especially his owner, Margaret Lass-Gardiner, and his family, I am glad that Xen is allowing him to live on, in the seven happy, healthy pups he sired with her.

Rest in Peace, Calvin!
